In times of accidents and emergencies, immediate and accessible care is critical. DFMP has been Dural's Medical Centre of choice to deal with accidents and injuries for over 30 years. We are equipped to handle urgent medical situations, and triage conditions that can be treated onsite or transferred to the local Emergency Department.
We are available to see patients with lacerations (cuts), head injuries, motor vehicle accidents, work injuries, sports injuries, fractures, falls and sprains, or if you require sutures (stitches). Please give us a call if you are on your way, so that your doctor and nurse can best prepare for your arrival.
As we are not a Government Urgent Care Centre (UCC), please present directly to your local Emergency Department or call 000 if you are experiencing any of the following:
Chest pain
Shortness of breath or breathing difficulties
Sudden onset of weakness, numbness, or paralysis of the face, leg, or arm
Fainting or unconsciousness
Babies with fever under 6 months of age
Seizures
Signs of meningitis, sepsis, or septic shock
Severe burns
Antenatal Care
Our Pregnancy and Antenatal Care services at Dural Family Medical Practice are here to support you and your baby throughout your pregnancy and afterwards. With a focus on personalised care, your team of GP's will offer regular check-ups and evidence-based advice at each stage, from pre-conception planning to post-partum care.
Please also have a chat with your GP if you are struggling to fall pregnant, have experienced miscarriage, or if you have experienced birth trauma or any perinatal mental health concerns. We are committed to helping you prepare for a safe labour and delivery, as well as being here for the entire journey. We are always available to confidentially explore any concerns around conception options, post-natal mental health, breastfeeding, lactation and bonding with your baby.
Immunisation (also known as vaccinations) is a simple, safe and effective way of protecting individuals against harmful diseases before they come into contact with them. Immunisation doesn’t just protect people, but also others in the community, by stopping the spread of preventable infections and illness.
Up until the 1950s, thousands of Aussie kids died each year from infectious diseases such as smallpox, diphtheria, polio and measles. Immunisation programs have controlled and, in some cases, wiped out these diseases in Australia.
At Dural Family Medical Practice, we offer a wide range of immunisations including:
Travel Vaccinations
Current seasonal Flu
COVID-19 Immunisations
Childhood Vaccinations
Meningococcal B (Bexsero) Immunisation
NIP
Boostrix vaccination for pregnant women and grandparents-to-be
Shingles immunisation
Pneumococcal (Prevenar-13) Vaccination for all adults aged 70 and over
Tetanus (ADT) shots for any traumatic injuries or accidents.
RSV Vaccine
Parents and Caregivers, by following the current National Immunisation Programme Schedule, you protect your child from a number of infectious diseases including:
